When installing a hitch on a travel or 5th trailer, the frame width of the trailer is an important factor in choosing a hitch. I do have an option for you however, all of the aftermarket trailer hitches we offer for your 2017 Toyota Tundra except one will not work if there is a factory trailer hitch already installed. The next question people usually ask is if they were to remove the factory trailer hitch could they then install an aftermarket trailer hitch. That's a good question, and the answer is that aftermarket hitches for a 2020 Chevy Equinox do sit a little lower than the factory trailer hitches, but not by a whole lot. The aftermarket hitches sit just under the bumper while the OEM hitch is up a little higher.

Yes, the Mississippi State Trailer 2 Inch Hitch Receiver Cover, item # AMG100321, attaches to the hitch with a 5/8 inch hitch pin. On the back of the cover there is a channel that slides in the 2 inch hitch and a foam rubber gasket to prevent the cover from rattling in the receiver.

There are several different ways to attach a trailer hitch to a trailer frame. With I-beam frames, a trailer hitch like the Curt Adjustable Motorhome Hitch, # C13701, could be welded to the underside of the frame rail. This would prevent any interference with the middle of the I-beam. This trailer hitch can fit frame widths of 18 inches to 51 inches.

Installing a trailer hitch such as Curt trailer hitch # C11377 will not affect the tire sensors. However, depending on what you use the hitch for the extra weight in the hitch could cause an inaccurate reading of the tire sensors but should go back to normal (if it happens at all) once the load is removed from the hitch.
If you want to use the hitch for a bike rack or cargo carrier and not towing then I recommend going with Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24914.
